Club Principles
As a member of LVYSL, our club offers a competitive travel soccer program for youth athletes residing in Carbon County and Surrounding Areas. Carbon United is committed to cultivating a passion for soccer in all players, encouraging fun, safety, and healthy competition. We focus on developing comprehensive athletic skills while using good sportsmanship, discipline, and team spirit as a foundation for building success that extends beyond the field of play.
Our Journey
Since its official launch in 2006, Carbon United has consistently built upon its initial success, becoming a central hub for youth soccer players in the area. The club emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and continuous development.
- A Legacy of Achievement: Carbon United teams have established a presence in the league for two decades. We have been proud members of the Lehigh Valley Youth Soccer League (LVYSL) for 20 years, with many teams achieving rankings or success in tournaments.
- Beyond the Field: The club's commitment extends beyond games. Many alumni have gone on to play high school and even college soccer, demonstrating values learned at Carbon United. The club continues to invest in coaching and player development.
Our Mission
Today, Carbon United Soccer Club is more dedicated than ever to its mission of fostering player development and sportsmanship. We are now focused on strengthening our roots in the community and building a legacy for the next generation of players.
Club Future
- Renewed Community Focus: We are actively seeking to reconnect with the community and forge stronger partnerships with local businesses and organizations. This collaboration is key to supporting our athletes and ensuring the club remains a vital part of the Carbon County area.
- Investing in the Future: We have a vested interest in building a robust foundation for youth soccer. The club is focused on creating teams for younger age groups, ensuring a clear pathway for aspiring players to grow with Carbon United from an early age and for years to come.
Club Culture
- Commitment and Motivation: We are seeking dedicated athletes who are motivated to succeed and contribute fully to the team's goals.
- Attendance Policy: Players are expected to maintain consistent attendance at all practices and games, with allowances for illness, injury, or major family events.
- Playtime Philosophy: Playtime is earned, not guaranteed. Playing time is determined at the coach's discretion, based on a comprehensive assessment of attendance, effort, attitude, and performance.
- Team Cohesion and Success: Consistent and focused efforts from every player are vital for fostering strong team cohesion and successfully executing our strategic goals.
Home Ground
During the season, teams train three times a week at Beltsville State Park, with two sessions focused on team dynamics and strategy. The third weekly practice is dedicated to technical development, ensuring players master individual skills like ball control, passing, and dribbling. Practices will be held rain or shine, so players must be dressed appropriately. Weather cancellations will be communicated by the coaching staff.
Player Development
Our program emphasizes developing strong bonds that extend beyond the game, providing meaningful on- and off-field opportunities for players to connect. From collaborating on group activities and coordinating team logistics to sharing time together at tournaments, these shared experiences are designed to cultivate lasting friendships and exceptional teamwork on the field that endure long after their time with the program is over.
Supporters and Community
Fundraising and sponsorship opportunities are provided throughout the season to help offset costs and support the club's environment. Participation is highly encouraged.
- Offsetting Individual Costs: For example, specific individual fundraisers can be used to cover the cost of uniform kits, reduce additional tournament fees, etc.
- Ensuring Player Success: Opportunities help ensure every player has access to essential training events and necessary equipment.
- Supporting Club Operations: Funds contribute to a safe and successful environment, including professional development for coaches.
